In 2017, PUBG Corporation’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds made video game history by overtaking Dota 2 as the largest on Steam, and League of Legends as the largest in the world with the most concurrent users online.  PUBG smashed the records with a massive 2 million concurrent player base, later to be destroyed by a 3 million player base.

Epic Games has already taken to describing Fortnite as the biggest game in the world, and now they have the stats to prove it; as the game hit a peak of 3.4 million concurrent players on Sunday.

Fortnite could have done even better last weekend if it hadn’t been for server problems due to the number of concurrent players.  Epic Games has posted a detailed explanation of what went wrong and how they intend to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
