Last month, we teased about an upcoming ‘Map 3’, and now we know that the next map will be announced in March 2018.
The desert-themed Miramar map, was much-anticipated when it released last year, and the developers have promised a third map relatively soon.
In a Steam update from PUBG Corp. today, the developers of one of the world’s most popular shooters explained why the development roadmap had slowed down so dramatically in the early part of the year.
“Early this year, development of some of the major features and systems was delayed as our focus shifted towards tightening our anti-cheat effort,” reads the post.
“In March, the team will reveal what you can expect from us in the first half of 2018 in terms of our development and new content plans which, by the way, include a new map,” the developers wrote. While frequent updates are commonplace for the game and fans are used to it, a roadmap is traditionally used for most service games to let fans know what’s coming.
If the map release is to fit into this timeline, then we can expect the third map anywhere between March and the end of June.
It’s also worth noting that this statement is in reference to the PC version of the game, which has historically received updates in advance to the Xbox One player base.
Is this the anticipated Cosmodrome featured ‘Adriatic map’ we teased about?
