Bulkhead is removing the Season 2 Blue (Lonestar) cash and XP bonus via a backend update
Blue team's golden age is over before it started. Less than 12 hours into Season 2, Bulkhead has scrapped the Lonestar cash and XP bonus after it turned the most hated faction into a day-one XP farm, and admitted it "got a few things wrong".

Bulkhead is removing the Season 2 Blue (Lonestar) cash and XP bonus via a backend update
Driver progression fixes, plus a fix for an exploit that let lots of players reach tanks too early
Coming soon: Limited Mode servers with no power weapons and no vehicles
The bonus stacked Blue lobbies overnight, and players reported level 40+ within hours of the wipe
The X post doesn't say whether XP farmed from the bonus will be reset
Well, that was quick. Less than 12 hours after Wardogs Season 2 went live, Bulkhead has cancelled the bribe. The bonus cash and XP for playing Lonestar is gone, and the studio has done something you rarely see in this industry. It said sorry. Sort of.
“We’re holding our hands up and we got a few things wrong,” reads the official post, which landed around 10am NZT this morning (Friday 16 October). Here’s the full thing, including Bulkhead’s 10-minute video explaining themselves:

Bulkhead is pushing a backend update with:
Quick recap for those who missed it: Blue (Lonestar) had been winning roughly 10% of matches, so for Season 2 Bulkhead decided to pay people to play it. Bonus cash and XP for wins, multipliers on top, and all of it landing on the same day as the first progression wipe.
Every sweat in the game did the maths in about four seconds.
Overnight, the most hated faction in Wardogs became the most crowded. Players on the Steam forums described lobbies with 13 on Blue and one each on Red and Green, matches that wouldn’t start, and about 48 Lonestar players piled into the final circle. Others reported people already at level 40+ within hours of a wipe that was supposed to put everyone back on level 1. One player summed it up nicely: you wipe everyone’s progress to protect newbies from the no-lifers, then hand the no-lifers bonus XP on day one.
So the social experiment produced a result after all. It turns out people don’t hate Blue, they hate losing. Pay them enough and they’ll wear any uniform you like. Lonestar finally had full lobbies, and the GetRekt crew finally had teammates, and nobody had a good time.
We’ve been running Blue Team Watch for a month, and we’d like to formally note that Blue’s golden age lasted roughly as long as a Countdown Tuesday special. Lonestar went from 4/33 to the hottest ticket in town and back to the bargain bin before most of New Zealand had finished breakfast.
Honestly? Paying people to play the losing team on the same day as a progression wipe was a bad idea, and it was obvious from the moment it was announced. Everyone was level 1 anyway. The bonus didn’t fix Blue, it just turned it into an XP farm and gave the sweats a head start on the season, which is exactly what a wipe is supposed to stop. Credit to Bulkhead for owning it inside a day, rather than letting it rot for a fortnight while the forums burned. That’s more than most studios manage. But anyone who farmed Blue overnight keeps a fat head start, and the official post doesn’t say anything about clawing it back. Check the video if you want the full explanation.
Limited Mode servers are the best news in the post. No tanks and no power weapons sounds like the place new players can actually learn the game without getting deleted by a Gepard.
Did you cash in on the Blue bribe while it lasted, or were you one of the poor souls in a 1v13? Tell us in the comments, or come and argue about it with the Wardogs crew in the GetRekt Discord. Lonestar is still recruiting. The pay’s just gone back to nothing.
