Two factions full. One faction empty. A hundred players staring at a countdown that never counts down. Welcome to Blue Team.

Experienced players are refusing to pick Lonestar (Blue), so some matches can't start
Lonestar is first in the faction list, so brand-new players default straight into it
All three factions are mechanically identical. The problem is the people
Bulkhead hasn't commented yet. Players want the faction order randomised
Wardogs has been in early access for less than a month and the community has already reached a verdict on Lonestar, the Western PMC-flavoured Blue Team: don’t.
Players across Reddit and community Discords are reporting matches that sit in the lobby because nobody will fill the Lonestar slots. Wardogs needs a minimum player count per faction before a match kicks off, so when Valkyra (Red) and Manticore (Green) are full and Blue is a ghost town, everybody just… waits.
It isn’t the guns. All three factions are mechanically identical, with no stat advantages anywhere. The issue is the menu. Lonestar sits first on the faction select screen, so a fresh player who has never heard of the meme clicks the first option and deploys. Veterans know this, avoid Blue to dodge the new players, which pushes even more new players onto Blue, which makes Blue lose more, which makes veterans avoid it harder. A perfect, self-sustaining loop of pain.
The clips speak for themselves: vehicles driven confidently into the wrong zone, entire squads buying the most expensive kit and wiping before the zone opens, revives attempted mid-crossfire. The community’s blunt summary is that Lonestar “attracts the stupidest players”. We would never say that. We’d just pick Red.
Bulkhead hasn’t made a public statement, but the stigma now blocks matchmaking, so expect it on their list. The fixes players keep suggesting: randomise the faction order, change how new players are introduced to factions, or add matchmaking protection that spreads first-timers evenly across all three teams.
Until then, if you see a GetRekt tag on Lonestar, assume they lost a bet. Read the Blue Team Survival Guide before you deploy.
