Modder Crispy Cranky's work-in-progress Capri mod trailer has hit nearly 400,000 views in five days.
Less than two weeks after Edgerunners 2 hit Netflix, three Capri mods are on the go. One work-in-progress trailer has nearly 400,000 views, and one version is already out on Nexus.

Modder Crispy Cranky's work-in-progress Capri mod trailer has hit nearly 400,000 views in five days.
It shows V slotting a chip, Capri appearing in her anime style, fighting alongside you, hacking, and talking back.
It isn't out yet and has no release date. A second Capri mod with a full model and voice is also in beta.
Project Capricorn is downloadable now on Nexus: an Iconic cyberdeck with Capri as a subtitled companion.
The released mod is PC only, needs Phantom Liberty and the usual modding frameworks, and unlocks at level 60.
Edgerunners 2 has been out on Netflix for less than a fortnight, and modders are already shoving its breakout star into Cyberpunk 2077. Capri, the chaotic, pink-haired personality construct who lives on a biochip in D’s head, now has not one but three mods on the go. One of them comes with a trailer that has racked up nearly 400,000 views in five days.
That trailer comes from YouTuber Crispy Cranky, who posts on Nexus Mods as ethan7648. They describe it as their first Cyberpunk mod and ask everyone to go easy on them. Mate, nobody needs to go easy. It looks unreal.
The trailer starts the way any good Night City disaster does: V slots a sketchy chip in a netrunner lab. A few seconds later, Capri glitches into existence in her flat, anime-style look, which stands out a mile against the game’s realistic lighting. It’s exactly how she looks in the show. Even Johnny Silverhand is sitting there, and his reaction is about what you’d expect.

From there it gets properly ambitious. Here’s what the trailer shows:

A separate clip from the same modder on Nexus shows a hack assist feature, where Capri helps you through breach protocol. Skip the high five afterwards and she pouts. Most important feature in the game, honestly.
The catch: none of this is out yet. The modder calls it a work in progress that probably won’t match the final release, and there’s no release date. The comments are already full of people begging to playtest it.
Crispy Cranky isn’t alone. Another modder, UknAces, has posted a beta of a full Capri character model with a new voice. They say she’s now a proper NPC who follows you around and comments on what you’re wearing, including if you’re wearing nothing at all. Also unreleased, also looking very promising. Commenters are already asking the two modders to team up.
If you want Capri on your PC right now, there is one you can download. Project Capricorn by ARandomSomeone22 landed on Nexus on 1 November and has passed 3,700 downloads. Here’s what it does:

It needs Phantom Liberty and the usual PC modding stack: Cyber Engine Tweaks, RED4ext, redscript, TweakXL, ArchiveXL, Codeware, Audioware, Input Loader and Mod Settings. That makes it PC only, even though Update 2.5 added mod support on consoles. The author recommends installing it manually rather than through Vortex. Worth knowing too: the mod is tagged as AI-assisted on Nexus.
If you haven’t watched Edgerunners 2 yet, Capri is Project Capricorn, a personality construct made from a bunch of digitised human minds rolled into one, stored on a biochip. Only the people with her chip slotted can see her. She’s voiced by Brittany Lauda in English and Aoi Koga in Japanese, and she stole the whole season. Netflix dropped all 10 episodes on 20 October, and the show has helped push Cyberpunk 2077 back up the Steam charts.
CD Projekt’s own Edgerunners 2 update added a prequel quest, gear and a radio station. As far as we can tell, it doesn’t give you Capri herself. So the modders are doing it for them, as Cyberpunk modders always do.
This looks awesome. Capri’s flat anime style shouldn’t work in Night City’s grimy, realistic world, but it absolutely does. She looks like a glitch in reality, which is exactly what she’s meant to be. Crispy Cranky’s trailer has more personality than some official DLC trailers, and this is apparently their first go at a Cyberpunk mod. Imagine the second one.
We haven’t played any of these. Two of the three aren’t out yet, so everything above comes from the modders’ own videos and pages. If you can’t wait, Project Capricorn is downloadable now. If you want the full anime-chip experience, keep an eye on Crispy Cranky’s channel. CD Projekt, if you’re reading: hire this person.
Would you slot Capri? Tell us in the comments, or come argue about whether she’s better than Johnny in the GetRekt Discord.
